Describe your favourite place: The beach near my house.

The beach near my house is one of the best places to forget about the world and relax. A good thing of this beach is that it is just five minutes from my house and I do not need to get a car or a bus. It is located in La Manga del mar Menor, where I live. When you arrive, the first you see is a big beautiful stairs that go down to the beach. The atmosphere there is very peaceful and it is unusual to be crowded. It offers you a quiet surrounding to feel better if you had a bad day. I also like going there when I want to practise sport owing that it is a suitable place to do some jogging. In addition, this beach almost unspoilt is always clean without any rubbish or junk. Every time I go there I feel relaxed and lucky to have such a lovely place. 

Complex problem/solution about drinking at an early age (Practice)

Drinking at an early age is a problem very extended in our country and that should be overcome.

Drinking at an early age is a wrong habit that teenagers are adopting during the last five years. Nowadays, young people start drinking alcohol between 13 and 15 years old, being 18 the legal age. It is very usual to see boys and girls at that age having alcoholic drinks in parties or even in parks. The last summer, I went to a party and a girl younger than me drunk too much and needed to go to hospital.

This happens since teenager go out and drink to “have fun”. To overcome this problem, city halls could promote free activities for young people where they can go and spare time. A second solution could be education, due to the fact that through it, teenagers can know the disadvantages that alcohol can produce in their body and health. To solve this problem, schools and other organizations could do advertising campaigns to show young people what alcohol can cause (car accidents, death, lung diseases, etc.) A final answer could be to control the illegal sale of alcohol and to fine the people who do it.

To conclude, I believe that if we follow these measures, we might solve the problem that I have analysed and give a better life to the future young society.  

    

Bad habits in young people.

By way of intruduction, nowadays it is very usual to hear the statement about many young people need to drink or smoke to have a good time and share happiness with friends.

It is said that the vast majority of teenagers smoke and drink when they go out but of curse this a generalisation. In my case, I usually go out with my friends and I don’t always drink. I don’t smoke because I don’t like it although modern teenagers are used to do it. Keeping this in mind, I can have fun and spend a good time without drinking or smoking.

In addicton, there are people who can not do this and need to smoke or drink if they go out. When I go to parties with friends, some of them drink and smoke a lot even they know that it is not good for their healthy. Moreover, the fact that people need to drink when the go out is spreading.

                                              

Some modern teenagers are strongly influenced and when they go out, they unconsciously copy  bad habits such as smoke or drink. These bad habits can affect one’s mood and can be dangerous. To change it, parents could use high standards but without limit the living space.

                                           

Otherwise, we can also use tips to kick bad actions when we go out. For instance, we can change friends if they smoke or drink to much. We can also try to have fun dancing, talking to people, etc.

To conclude, my opinion is that we should not need drink or smoke to have fun but is this happens, we might have a problem.  

Advantages and disadvantages about zoos.

Nowadays there is a lot of contradiction about whether it’s a good or bad idea to safe endangered species in zoos.

On the one hand, zoos have good installations and also the necessities to all the animals. Maybe, when they are in the natural environment they do not find food or water and in zoos they have not this problem. Another advantage of zoos is that they have specialised people that take care of the animals.

On the other hand, sometimes zoos do not follow the rules needed to have animals in the different installations or the people who work there is not qualified. A second disadvantage is that some species must have a very big space and sometimes zoos are not large enough.

In conclusion, zoos can be beneficial for animals but also harmful. They usually take care of the animal kingdom and I think that is a good way of saving endangered species.

Introduction and conclusion (junk food).

Introduction: Eating junk food regulary can be very dangerous for people’s health. This type of food is very usual in our daily life but if we do not have a control on the quantity that we consume we might have problems.

Conclusion: Abusing of this kind of food is a bad habit that can cause many difficulties in our life. Although it is very comfortable and fast to do, we should try to avoid it and eat healthy meals in order to be a in a good condition. 

Problems and solutions: When inmigrants come to Spain.

Nowadays lots of people from other countries come to Spain with the purpose of having a better life condition. What happens is that when they arrive they can find a list of disadvantages such as the language, the customs, culture, habits (time table), racism, the food, economy problems, the weather, etc. We can try to help them with different measures. To overcome the problem of the languages we can provide them free courses to learn Spanish. Concerning about the customs (culture and religion) we have to respect their own habits but always if they respect us and our laws. On the other hand, the food is also different but with the present globalization, it is easy to find supermarkets with a big diversity and restaurants with menus from any country. If we try to follow these measures they might feel welcome and I am sure they will do the same when we go to their countries.

Redaction Practice: Write a paragraph about something you really like but most people don't like at all.

 
Most of the people in our country do not like dark coloured eyes. Due to the fact that in Spain almost everybody has brown eyes, is unusual to find someone who prefers these kind of eyes instead of bright coloured ayes. In contrast, I have a mix of green and bleu eyes, and from my point of view it is nice to have dark eyes. Having brown, black or any colour like the ones I have mentioned, does not imply being less beautiful or hansome than someone with green or bleu eyes, In addition, dark eyes are more expresive than bright ones. It is a fact that a high number of studies have shown that people prefer green, bleu or grey eyes; however, I really enjoy a pair of brown eyes.

Opinions about the Internet

I think that The Internet help people in many different areas and it makes easier our life. In adition, I think that in the future a lot of things would be done throught a computer and everybody should know how to use it. I also think that The Internet is one of the best systems ever.  

Opinion paragraph: unconditional basic income.

The unconditional basic income is a new system in which every resident of a place receive the same amount of money without keeping in mind wherever they work or the money they earn. As far as I am concerned, this is unfair because people should not receive the same income if they work 2 hours or if they work 8 hours. Secondly, it would reduce the incentive to work and people will stay at home just doing nothing. Lazy people become lazier and that is also unfair for the ones who work everyday. Furthermore, there are jobs in which nobody would like to work and the streets would be dirty, for example. Paying taxes (all the citizens should pay more taxes in this system) for people with disadvantages or dificulties is ok but it isn’t  for people who doesn’t want to work. In conclusion, I am against unconditional basic income because although it has advantages it is not fair at all to the people who are responsable and who have studied hard to have a good quality life.

Our first Halloween party at home.

Today is Halloween day, that day in with everything turns scary. Yesterday me and my friends were thinking what to do and we decided to celebrate a party. I started to look information about customs and games to do in Halloween parties. Mostly in the UK and in USA, is very usual to celebrate Halloween parties at home with family or fiends and in the internet there is a lot of ideas to use.
I found a kind of blog where I saw how to cook Halloween recipes (cakes, biscuits, etc), how to decorate the house, costumes to wear and also games. Concerning about the decoration, we put cobwebs and spiders in the corners and also dark lights to create a frightened atmosphere. We bought two pumkins and we did jack-o-lanterns too.

Then, each one of us decided a costum to wear: I would be a cat-woman and my three friends would be a witch, a skeleton and a vampire. After that, we looked for games and we found some such as dunking or apple bobbing, and we also found ghost stories and horror films and music. 
We also talked about going out to treak or treating but that is not decidec yet. 

Today is the day and we are so excited. we are going to text our friends and tell them about the plan, afterwards we will have finish with all the decorations and all we need. I hope we all enjoy the Halloween party.

Describing people: my younger sister

Even I was jealous, I really loved my sister when she was born. I was the baby in my family and all the relatives payed the atention to me but when my younger sister arrived, everybody was with her and I did not like it. She was so cute and funny with that chubby face. My own paragraph.

When you read something in english you are improving your vocabulary. First and foremost, you find new words that maybe if you don't read a book you won't find. Another advantage is that you learn synonims that help you to speak with more fluency. Reading an english book also shows you polite words and to speak correctly. I really encourage everybody to read texts in English to learn and practise.

Fear of loosing yourself in the city,

I first want to introduce me to all of you. Well, my name is Luciana Bathen and I'm 18 years old. I was born in Jermany but when I was just 2 years my family moved to La Manga (Murcia).
I have been living there since now because in september I came to Murcia. I share an apartament with my 3 best friends and I really love it. In La Manga are still my parents, my older and younger sister and my dog. I miss them but I prefer staying here.
In the future I want to be an English teacher but I would also like to be a Spanish teacher somewhere around the world or maybe a translator, and that's why I do English studies.
So, this is a short summary of my life..
